Left to Tell: The Rwandan Holocaust

I recently finished the book “Left To Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust“. I bought the audio cd’s and listened to them on my way to work in the morning. I really don’t like starting my day off with negative information, but I felt that I needed to get through this book.

It is the story of a woman named Immaculée and how she survived the Rwanda genocide in 1994 by hiding in a very small bathroom with seven other women for 3 months! Unfortunately most of her friends and family were killed. She shares her interesting story of forgiveness and her relationship with God during and after the genocide.

It is amazing how evil can take over a country and mass slaughter can occur. It’s sad to think that it may be happening now or even may occur again in this world. It is estimated that over 800,000 people were killed during this 3 month period!
